Seagrove Cottage

Seagrove Beach, FL

Formerly the parsonage of the historic Point Washington Methodist church, this contemporary renovated cottage is now the home of Tracery’s owner Paige Sumblin Schnell. After the structure was moved to Seagrove, Paige introduced volume, natural light and architectural character. The original eight-foot dropped ceiling in the living area was stripped away, exposing a series of trusses. Sixteen nautical glass pendants hang between this structural members painted white. A larger pass-through and new counter create a gracious exchange between the dining area and kitchen. Comfortable new upholstered pieces combine with vintage pieces, including an antique hutch painted a bold shade of green. Paintings by favorite contemporary artists, vintage Old Florida landscapes, and family portraits line the walls. The renovation highlights the materials and vernacular details of the original structure and provides a historic reference for a modern layering of personal style.
